2000-03-20|Sunatori's General Theory of Tunneling

There is a phenomenon called "tunneling" in solid-state physics at the P/N junction, which is used by the tunnel diode. However, there are similar odd phenomena in other areas of science.
- Atomic/Nuclear Tunneling (nuclear reaction in sonoluminescence)
- Biological Tunneling (a few bananas last longer, a few humans live longer)
- Electrochemical Tunneling (H3O+, H5O2+, etc.)
- Fluidodynamic Tunneling (a small number of mercury drops being left over from mergers)
- Magnetic Tunneling (like poles of real magnets stick to each other when forced)
- Mechanical Tunneling (generation of H2 by shaking H2O at room temperature)
- Quantum Tunneling (tunnel diode)
- Thermodynamic Tunneling (sublimation)
- ...
Maybe there is a supreme theory to link these phenomena together as "The General Theory of Tunneling". Even some social phenomenon such as a case of misfits and poor children making it big can be included as "Social Tunneling".
