In one of my dreams, I was working for a criminal organisation. My mission was to launder drug money and smuggle it across an international border. I hit upon an idea to purchase pure gold with the dirty money, and dissolve it into aqua regia, and cross the border legally with a tank of the chemical solution.
Similar techniques may be used to dissolve illegal goods into acid or alkaline compounds in order to legally import/export them across the border.
