2018-08-05|Air Canada's Flight Deviation

To whom it may concern

My daughter Évelyne is en route to Japan to participate in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET). While monitoring her flight (ACA 005) from YUL (2018-08-04) to NRT (2018-08-05), I noticed that the airplane was deviating from its originally planned route.

Given the past incident in that particular region, please explain why it was flying so close to Russia/China/North Korea.
