Here is what IEEE SPECTRUM wrote in the MARCH 2019 issue.

THE INSTITUTE JOINS IEEE SPECTRUM

If you turn to the back of this issue, you'll find something new. IEEE's member-news publication, The Institute, will now be integrated into IEEE Spectrum's print magazine, once a quarter.

The quarterly issue of The Institute has been in the table of contents of the digital edition of IEEE SPECTRUM magazine since MARCH 2019, but it was never included in the PDF file from Nxtbook Media's website. So, I always had to search for the digital edition of The Institute separately every 3 months. The DECEMBER 2020 issue of IEEE SPECTRUM magazine is the very first time that The Institute is included in IEEE SPECTRUM magazine's PDF file itself. Although it took 21 months, thank you for simplifying my life!!!
BTW, I hope that the Text-to-Speech (TTS) feature will be implemented in the IEEE app soon as function "LISTEN".

Bravo for introducing a monospaced font as of the May 2021 issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine!!! However, the number of characters per lines is different, indicating that all characters are not the same width. Here is an example.

PAGE 27: LINE 1 repeatable fashion, and it wasn't until 39 characters

PAGE 27: LINE 2 the late 1990s that engineers invented 38 characters

PAGE 27: LINE 3 equipment that enabled the growth of 36 characters

... ... ...

I still have problems with properly selecting text of a PDF file in Preview.app on a MacBook Air running macOS, followed by Speech > Start Speaking. Please optimise the now-erratic Text-to-Speech (TTS) feature.

Thank you, Linda, for your useful advice! I was able to find button "IEEE Spectrum" on the console on the left hand side, which was not showing up when my MacBook Air's Safari.app (macOS) window was not in full width.

Re-designed or not, I still prefer the replica PDF version in print archives on Nxtbook Media's website because IEEE's HTML Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) re-defines link colours so that it is indistinguishable whether the article has been read or not.
By default, a link will appear like this (in all browsers):
- An unvisited link is underlined and blue
- A visited link is underlined and purple
- An active link is underlined and red
In the replica PDF version of IEEE Spectrum magazine, page numbers are still skewed by 2 pages between the number in PDF viewer (Preview.app) and the number on the page itself. Please make them consistent.
