Here is what my geological engineer/exploration geologist daughter Évelyne found on an egg. Blood spots on an egg yolk are tiny specks of blood that occur naturally during the egg-forming process inside the hen. The blood drop then becomes encased in the egg as it forms. They're safe to eat.
