Thanks to Go Simon's incredible stamina, Michèle is pregnant again and is expecting another baby on 1991-01-10. We are doing our best to reach the goal of 3 children as fast as possible. However, Go Simon's grandiose dream to stay home may be on hold until the mortgage on our house is paid off.
Both Michèle and Go Simon changed job this year. Michèle is now posted at Emergency Preparedness Canada, which reports to the minister of National Defence. Michèle can now tell you what she does in her non-secret job. Go Simon transferred from silicon chip design to gallium arsenide chip design at Bell-Northern Research, the same company but a different location. For the first time in 7 years, his office has a window.
Go Simon also co-founded the World Future Society - Ottawa/Hull chapter. Our family appeared for 5 seconds on NewsWorld on 1990-06-03 during the first ministers' dinner on the Meech Lake Accord at the Museum of Civilisation in Hull. Meanwhile, François started to walk by himself at 11 months minus 1 day. He likes to eat chips with his father, and is obsessed with any kind of keyboard - telephone set, remote control, calculator, Go Simon's computer terminal and the electronic music keyboard. In August, François shook hands with the prime minister of Canada for no special reason.
Go Simon's HyperInfo Canada Inc. received a job application from a Ph.D. in Massachusetts, U.S.A., without advertising. However, the corporation has been unable to obtain funding from potential investors for being too long-term and therefore not strategic enough, so Go Simon is still looking for business opportunities. He is not discouraged because it happened so many times to great inventors in the history of civilisation...
As for our Habit-A-Dome project, we are making a slow but steady progress. Go Simon built an igloo last winter in the back yard of our house as the first prototype, and he subscribes to a publication for dome fanatics, the Dome magazine.
This could well be the last Christmas card from us. If Canada breaks up, Go Simon who has always envisioned a bilingual Just Society from coast to coast will have to abandon his comfortably established life, pack up and leave. If it means the end to a happy and productive triple-E marriage (Equality, Efficiency, Economy), so be it. His post-separation options include moving to Baffin Island or Labrador and start a new and simple life. Michèle, who believes in a Just Society where French-speaking and English-speaking Canadians are considered equal not just on paper but in practice, has not yet revealed her post-separation plan. She prefers to wait till the events unfold.

On se demande pourquoi... Au mois d'août, François a serré la main du premier ministre du Canada sans raison apparente.
La compagnie HyperInfo Canada Inc. de Go Simon a reçu une demande d'emploi d'un docteur (Ph.D.) du Massachusetts, E.-U., sans avoir fait de publicité. Cependant la corporation a été incapable d'obtenir le financement d'investisseurs potentiels. De sorte que Go Simon cherche encore des occasions. Il n'est cependant pas découragé parce que ce genre de choses est arrivé si souvent aux grands inventeurs dans l'histoire de la civilisation...

Si cela signifie la fin d'un mariage heureux et productif aux trois E (Egalité, Efficacité, Economie), qu'il en soit ainsi. Ses options après la séparation incluent un déménagement à l'île de Baffin ou au Labrador et le commencement d'une nouvelle vie. Michèle pour sa part qui croit en une société juste où canadiens de langue anglaise et de langue française sont considérés égaux non seulement sur papier mais en pratique, n'a pas encore révélé ses intentions. Elle préfère attendre la suite des événements.
